In a region known for its rice fields, horse riding and equestrian activities, we can find Monte dos Duques. Horse lovers can find the perfect conditions with the riding arena and polo field in the neighbouring property. Leisure has not been forgotten and the swimming pool, the extensive lawn (where you can land a helicopter), the tennis court, and skeet shooting range promise hours of fun.

In addition to the beauty of the property, the main house is also a highlight on the Monte dos Duques. Built according to traditional standards, it was designed by the architect António José Brito e Cunha and finished by the architect Maria José Salavisa in 1995. With an excellent sun exposure and privileged view over the fields, the building has more than 1500 square meters of useful area and stands out for the details and quality materials. The vaulted ceilings in artisanal adobe brick (an ancient Portuguese art) are one of the great assets of the house. In addition to the beauty and character they provide to the spaces, they are essential to maintain the proper temperatures in each season, conserving heat in winter and coolness in the summer.

Another unique aspect is the stone floors of the ground floor, designed by the architect Maria José Salavisa. Due to the complexity of leveling the old slabs, coming from ancient monasteries, it took two years and the manual work of three people to finish this unique element of the house. On the top floor, the rooms, the tropical wood of Ipê, coming from Brazil, provide a cozy character.

The social bathrooms and those of the main bedrooms were also the subject of special attention, with the application of hand-painted tiles from the Sant' Anna Factory, founded in 1741. From the tropical motifs or related to the rural landscape, the tiles are one of the main decorative elements, complementing the rustic atmosphere of the rest of the house, which also features details such as wardrobes and solid oak wooden doors.

The main house consists of six bedrooms en suite, two living rooms with fireplace, dining room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen with two utility bedrooms, laundry space and pantry. Also part of the property are a guest house, the house of the caretakers, garages and the engine room.
